Designologue
nice! i like it a lot. it’s got a very creepy vibe to it…
Very well done. Ive been to such a place..once
I like it as well. Few things looks like the hand is higher then it should be. Don’t know if you were meaning for that to happen. The welcome to I don’t think it is needed. Overall Great!
the estate agent from another dimension, cool :)
Cheers all.
Beerad, well spotted, the hand is slightly higher (and bigger, and longer) than it should be. I wanted to make the figure as a whole a bit quirky, like there’s something not quite right. Apart from the obvious (head) it’s also leaning forward a little just to make it off-balance. But the changes are very slight.
And you’re probably right about the “welcome to” tbh.
Fresh Image nice vibe to it. I really like the left side of the design. i think some thing on the right looks a little off. i think the black grung Tree? could be worked in a little better, maybe some scratches angd more grunge work. I thing you can do some really sick shit with this theme.
Welcome Home My Friend,Welcome Home…
POST BILLS FOR LIFE
Cheers EuRip.
Not sure I agree with you about the right side though, but fair comment nonetheless. I think maybe I’ve looked at it too long now to make any objective judgements on it at the moment.

image 1 seemed to usher me into the cabin… this is what i saw when i went inside:
Great response! spoooooky
I really like it, awesome execution of your visual concept..
zdoob, you always come back with something so dope. You both may want to check out Twisted Realmz for ideas or inspiration.
Nicely done… lot more literal than the first though. Guy at the window looks a bit odd though, like he’s suddenly grown really tall.

…moving along…
Quite a few references (some subtle, some obvious) taken from #2 and tried to develop the plot (and subplots?) a bit further. I don’t want to explain what they are as I don’t want to influence zdoob’s response.
Beerad, great link, thanks. Dunno about zdoob, but I’m not sure I’d want to be that graphic… just yet though, but definitely a good reference for later imgs.
wow. good volley. These are great so far. 1…3 2…4 3…4 my only complaint is the tree and graphical elements of the first image kinda detract from the atmosphere you’re developing. restecp
Just added this to my favorites. Keep up the great work.
YEAH! You’re a genius!

the last image left SO many possibilities…
i may have taken this in a slightly different direction than anticipated, but then again - that’s what the twilight zone is all about.
Nice job. I was really unsure of where it was going, but this response is really clever, unexpected and well executed.
Forgive me Father, for I have sinned.. Very well done.
Nice change in pace and direction, this is going to be a tough one to follow…
have more of a sci-fi thing going now. Since the theme is Twilight Zone horror of sci-fi work great together.
thanks for the comments. i’m having a blast with this one.
arthaus: is that a woman with long brown hair and a miniskirt in the doorway of IMG 3?
I’m enjoying doing this DSNLG too. Although it may be a while before I can get the right pic for the next image.
“Long haired brunnette wearing a miniskirt”? er, no mate, that’s me in the doorway! I don’t know whether to be insulted or commend your vivid imagination. ;-)
err. i like the miniskirt wearing version. Besides, the author’s intention is no longer valid, postmodernism took care of that :-)
”Besides, the author’s intention is no longer valid, postmodernism took care of that…”
Never said it wasn’t. I’m all for ambiguity and misinterpretations. Especially in a Twilight Zone DSNLG. It opens up more avenues and says more about the viewer than it does about the author. That sort of interaction between the viewer’s imagination and the work pleases me.
spot on!
did you take the photo especially for this DSNLG? do you have long hair? ;p
interestingly, image 4 makes more sense now that we know it’s you in image 3.
Hmmmm.
Yeah, and no… not anymore.
HELL YEAH! way to go with this one!
i was worried you were gonna leave me hangin’.
I dont know what to say…. This design blows me away. Great job - Really
awesome. great turn.
Thanks for the comments!
zdoob, sorry dude, I was busy and then away on a short break. Wouldn’t leave you hangin’ like that.
you guys rock.. Awesome job zdoob, mad respect.
wow
great logue guys. i added it to my favorites. now don’t %$*@ up the end :p
YOWSA! great great great!
and i suppose you’d like a standard response, zd? ;)
I like how our last 3 thumbs sorta flows into one.
Lincoln, I’ll do my best not to %$*@ up ;)
thanks for the comments guys.
arthaus: unless i can get my ass in gear and give you an alternative, i think a standard response is your only option… ;)
as for the thumbs, yeah - i was actually thinking that it would be cool to do a DSNLG where the thumbs create something as a whole. sort of a DSNLG within a DSNLG.
Very surreal/creepy/suggestive (although I don’t know what exactly it suggests).
Transcending From, Into..
W O W.
Big hairy phat KuDoS to both of you; by far a fav.
OK, standard one coming up this weekend then :)
and that THMLG sounds quite interesting, maybe use all the thumbs on the site to create some sort of funky mosaic type thing? (if that’s allowable)
I’m thinking Tetris at the mo for some reason…
arthaus: it’s funny that you say that. i was thinking of doing something VERY similar in the tartan challenge, but my volley never got returned.
anyway - i’m looking forward to your response!
my friend, you have truly delivered.
very nice…
my only problem with this one is that the positioning and everything looks so similar to the previous image that it doesnt feel like a move.. it feels like a swap.. if that makes sense… i would have moved the guy over a ittle and put his head down…
Thanks guys.
zdoob, shame about your Tartan Challenge, looked like it was off to a good start, could you not email the other fella to start it up again?
bh, yeah I see what you mean it does like a bit of a swap.
i suppose i COULD email him, but i think i whine enough as it is! my last image may take a little longer than usual, i’ve got a bunch of work ahead of me this week…. plus, i don’t wanna screw up the closer.
zdoob, did you do the 3d work on the figure in image 6 or is it like a standard Poser person?
i wish… i don’t own any 3d rendering programs. had to use a photo.
zdoob, take your time, no worries, but I am looking forward to see how you decide to close this.
Ahh Cool, well fooled me ;)
Touche’!
What a brill ‘logue - very well done you two.
I’m still curious how mr weirdo whitehead was created - how did his head come about?
that’s…uh…I dunno Zdoob. horribly wonderful? wonderfully horrible? Wonderbly Horriful! I really hate the image. but its a great end. 4 confused stars
Roads, where were going we don’t need roads.
Yeah man great finish. Creepy little guy tho, Twilightish…
zdoob, you da man! Great finish. Thanks for making my first DSNLG a pleasure to work on.
Also, thanks to all who commented, much appreciated people.
arthaus, it was a pleasure indeed. i wasn’t sure if you were gonna pick up on the “subplot” in image2, and was psyched to see your response in image3.
my first attempt at the final image took a different direction, but i bagged it since it didn’t seem to flow with the series. just for kicks, here it is:
Man, that alternate ending’s quite funny. It doesn’t look finished, but the characters on the right are spot on. :)
I was (pleasantly) surprised to see that “subplot”, so I HAD to go with it for IMG3. I wonder if anyone else got that?
cJw, sorry, forgot to answer you earlier, that ‘whitehead’ dude is a baby dolls’ head. I thought it would look kinda creepy.
i really hate the imagery throughout this dsnlg.. but the story and execution is very very nice..
great job
Harp, you scare to easily..
true..
I really love the coloring on the hawk in image 8….very nice.
juxtaposition of images has triggered me into the chapel, nice.
Gabriel and a wierd one, there’s something going on here
Well and truly freaky…
The hairs on my arms stood on end for the first few images, and then felt enlightened as I went through the remaining ones.
Exceptional quality to all DSNLG images.
Has anyone played Silent Hill…? and that’s why I got such a great sensation from these images.
Top notch!
Hi all, first DSNLG for me and looking forward to see how it evolves.
Theme: Twilight Zone. Quite an open-ended theme exploring and playing upon one’s imagination and/or the psyche. Suggestive rather than literal. Mood, atmosphere and expression, etc.
Over to you zdoob.
