Designologue

Good job Travis! I love the perspective on that escalator. Looking at this no one would ever guess that you were in an abrasive punk band…
thanks randy! let us not forget about my side job as DJ to the scenesters. i’m a secret raver at heart.

my first attempt at anything “rave” like. let me tell you, it was more fun then i thought it would be. also, my first ever dsnlg! =)

holy crap Crystal?! That is WAY hot!! i see you took some inspiration from the Dieselboy designs. with the overlapping images & photo. i especially like the 3/4 perspective on the font. excellent job!
i can’t wait to get home so i can start on a response to this, although depending on how fast we go it may be postponed for a week.
thank you very much for the comments and thank you for doing this topic. i cant wait until you do your next one. i just hope you get it done before you leave for LA. HURRY! =) i get bored at work.
i was inspired by many of the things i found. i actually have my wall full right now at my cube with my research. so its s dab here and a dab there but with my own twist.

i blew the heck out of the orignal image, but if you look close you’ll notice that all the angled parts are the image itself. DJ Travis_Analogue needed a somewhat easily recognizable logo. the kids go wild for that. i’m not ready for a world tour just yet, because i just got offered 40 grand to spin at club DSNLG located on 176 inman street. it’s by the old paper factory you can’t miss it!
Holy shee-ite, guys. This conversation is out of control!
As they say in drum-n-bass world: Big ups to the one like travis_analogue and sanguine, the hardcore selektress.
Boh! Seriously, this is easily becoming one of my favorite designologues. Sheesh!
dope… dope….. dope…and dope…… love the style, creativity, and the conversations… i’m down for a DSNLG like this if either of you want to in the future…
I would be willing to do another one of these in the future. I regret to say that I will be taking a week off of DSNLG starting Mar 01 and ending Mar 08, for a much needed holiday. Once I get back though consider it on!
Thanks for the input!

i guess this is my “back from tour” gig. travis you even get to join me.

No. 4 is really nice. In fact all of these are really nice. I think you have both pushed the rave flyer way beyond what it normally is.
Crystal: I’m not sure if I will be able to respond to No.4 until after I’m back from LA. The rest of this week is going to be quite hectic. Band practice, BAP 1 year, show, airport etc. I think this trip may lead to some new inspiration, as well as interesting photos.
I’ve noticed a bit more of your own spark in this last image. Mainly the pink and white vector shapes I have come to know and love as part of the “Sanguine Experience” if you will? Fantastic job yet again… or as they say, Touche!
:[also]: Is there some hidden connotation to having the E in Sanguine in the girls mouth? Is that girl rolling?! heh
actually i was thinking that when i put the text there. she just looked like she was on something so why not imply it.
i didnt think youd be able to get back to this one b4 you left. thats ok though. hopefully stormshadow will conjur up something for us while youre away.
crystal
NICE job with that ‘e’!!! I think the way you think!
The negative space is fantastic in img4 Crystal. Great balance with the low/high contrast and focal point (mouth). The “E” is pretty rad as well!
this DSLG (DSNLG) was more or less inspired by a heavy intake of Diesel Boy and the Breakbeat Science Crew. knowing Sanguine isn’t a big fan of the music, and seeing some of her work i wanted to challenge her to something that would make her rack her brain a bit. the object of this challenge would be to create somewhat convincing advertisements for a rave-type event featuring the participants as “world renouned Dj’s”.
