Designologue

i know that i went for the obvious move and applied a motion blur to an image but i hope you all enjoy the image anyways.
I like it - that’s the whole idea I was going for with this theme.
Might take me a while to reply back - I’m leaving for Mexico for a week, but I’ll take my laptop with me and work on something (hopefully I can find net access somewhere down there!)
have fun in mexico. i think that we’re off to a good start here. really looking forward to your next image.

too tired to comment. so i’ll just let the image do the talking.
cool image … yeah, I’m tired as well … I’ll respond with something tonight or tomorrow.

about the only thing I could bounce back with - I need to get a thesaurus or something.
very nice indeed. i’m kind of relieved that you couldn’t think up a new word, that lets me off the hook now.
heh heh heh … yeah, I figured it was time to take a different path.
I like 5 a lot. good idea and execution
Ill confess this dsnlgs early entries left me cold, but it has turned around quite nicely. The last two images are very strong. A question, though: why do so many designologuers so often feel compelled to include text of the dnslgs name in their images? Particularly in the case of this dsnlgs 3, 4, and 5, it just seems redundant and unnecessary to me.
Hey, thanks for the positive feedback. This has been my first designologue, and I agree that my first couple of images were pretty weak. I was taking the wrong direction with this, but I think I’ve managed to figure it out.
I think the past 2 images are the best, and hopefully, we can keep this up for the rest of the log.
Not sure why I included the name of the log in the image, or why others do as well. I guess I’ll have to take it up with the Department of Redundancy Department tomorrow.
The ‘rapid movement’ text in the last two images almost feels like some kind of branding message of sorts. I really don’t mind it in the last two…really feels like part of the design. And I must agree that this DSNLG has taken quite an upswing from the first two images.
Props have been distributed.
That’s a good observation, cowpie. I believe restating your theme in your designologue is unnecessary - never try and force the use of text. However…
Image 03 starts to collect the previous terms described in 01 and 02, and add another (and image 04 takes a similar approach) which is an interesting idea. Almost like a bread crumb trail for the concept’s direction. But then it got scrapped in image 05. Any reason why, jeromius?
I think it was starting to lose context - while I think this concept could work in other images, it just wasn’t working the way I thought it would.
Funny story about the paper plane though - I was trying to develop a response to img 4, so I decided to print out a copy so I could try and come up with something (I like to sketch out ideas). I was so annoyed with the idea, I folded it into a paper airplane and the idea was born.

sorry it’s been so long, i’ve been busy. cowpie, i initially included the dsnlg’s name just because i like the way it sounded. that’s why it appears in image 2. after that it’s kind of like creighton mentioned i was try to use it for branding. once again in this image the name of the log doth appear. for those of you that don’t like it, sorry but i still think it sounds like it would be a pretty cool brand name. it’s fun and after all that’s why i’m doing this.
man, that kid looks creepy. nice reply.
Whoa, way spooky, even if it is de-spookified a bit by the designologue title at the bottom. ;)
Did you take the pics?
terrifying… AHHH.. get me outta here
actually my in-laws took the pics. and the creepy kid is my son. ah well like father like son i guess.
I sat here for a moment trying to understand where the rapid movement was, and then I realized. That’s an good representation, Skoppy - kudos to finding another area of this theme to explore…
ha ha ha … I figured it was your kid. I knew the moment I said that he was creepy, you’d come back saying “That’s my kid”.
It’s a cool image - and I like the subtle movement you threw in their (and how it looks like he’s grabbing that paper airplane).
I think “Rapid Movement” would be a cool brand name. I’m thinking I might explore this in my next image - I’ve got something brewing.

Here it is - my last image for this dsnlg. Decided to explore the branding idea, and here is what I came up with.
It’s been fun, and I can’t wait to see how you close out this log!
Arghh … I am sorry I even posted this. I rushed through it too quickly and it wasn’t really well thought out.
hits self with mackerel
I’m totally in a creative slump, and looking at this, all I can think is, “what the hell”.
Since nobody else is leaving any criticism, I’ll criticize myself.
Sorry skoppy - we’ll have to do another log sometime, when my mind isn’t so fried.

don’t be so hard on yourself.
well all things must come to an end and with this image ends our first dsnlg. i hope that everyone enjoyed this as much as i did.
maybe next time we’ll get a bit more commentary and some higher ratings.
it’s over - nice job with the final image. It’s been fun.
Yeah, I tend to be overly critical of myself - guess I should have taken my medication this morning.
But I like the last image - very classy.
We’ll have to do this again.
Here we go - my first designologue!
