Designologue

its still the same theme, just moving in a new direction
I have to say this conversation is really getting more interesting visually. Even though this converstation isn’t heavy conceptually, it’s fun and the last two are an interesting twist on the concept. Nice designs!
Everything about this latest image is great - the energy, the vector outlines, the turn-table, the oranges, the retention of previous elements. Bitchin’!
He said “retention”….heheheh
randy, really liked the addition of the turntable and the old time picture in the figure. and stormy, who doesn’t like the color orange, sweet vectors and dancing girls?

I guess this would be the “standing still” portion of the theme.
Skoppy, thanks! That’s Mark Twain’s (or Sam Clemen’s) childhood home (inside the figure)…
well done randy. we’re bouncing all over the place in this one but i love it. nice job on the poster!
#5 is very creative. Nice usage of the B&W photo with the previous image in the vinyl.
skoppy, i dont want to know!!
Thanks a lot Goodgrowth!
After a year off it’s to be expected (the bouncing around that is)… I’m not sure how I’m going to counter that last one. Everything looks like it could be an album cover to me, I need a new angle.
Vectors-a-go-go. I’m feeling it.
over the last year ive become somewhat of an illustrator junkie. vectors are just my bag!!
yes yes yes.. #5 is TIGHT! i LOVE IT awesome job randy.
love img 05, very minimal, very nice. and img 06 even more vectory goodness. i am all a tingle.
Nice faux logo. I would have like to have seen references to some other designologues in the Hot 15 - that would have been sweet.
…insert tongue in cheek… I guess “Various Artists” will have to do …remove tongue from cheek...
Really clever idea and excellent job on the logo from the magazine. I would like to see a better use of typography on the “Straight to the Top” But, regardless nice job!
The Rolling Stone (DsnlgStone) cover was a copy of a Bob Dylan mag’ cover, so the font/typography use can be blamed on the original designer… Thank you everybody so much for all your great comments!!
Kick a$$! I like how this conversation has transgressed!
Afro-Celtic Sound System kicks ass. I’m not sure about the typography on the cover, but that faux logo is very well-done!
go to your local virgin megastore and pick up the latest randy storm record. its the hottest track since rednex.
touche!
This is what happens when you take a year off in the middle of a DSNLG… Drastic departures from the original themes are inevitable. I really like it though…
despite the one year haitus i really like how this turned out. great work guys!
i can’t help but love the vector art rock & roll hall of fame in the last image.
i cant believe i sigh stretched pixels
thanks analogue. i liked how this turned out. the theme took some shape for me (as the conspiritor) into something that i know both of us are interested in. excellent work randy.
There comes a time in every person’s life when they must stretch pixels. I feel in some cases (if used sparringly) it can add to an image. Just don’t go out and get a white belt though, because then i’d have to get all Romper Stomper on you.
I liked this so much I included it in my favourites. The way an idea like this can take such a drastic change is brilliant!
