I really like what you have going on in the background over to the right. Would have been more interesting to see you work with these elements than to cover them up with the crazy explosion photo to the left.

Try not to be so literal with the theme and think of other ideas that explosions brings to mind.
I’vei fallen down that hole many of times. Once you start thinking about the theme as a concept, more ideas will come to mind and the designs will improve for the better.
