Designologue

Is this a vague reference to 9/11? Sounds like a Pulp Fiction type revenge against bin laden to ME. Maybe im reading in to it to much. Like the picture tho!
ben
Nah, no 9/11 politics here. I wanted the upwards angle of our perspective on the building to address the Proportions part of the theme, accompanied by an appropriate bible verse for the Biblical.
Alright, mr. surprise… Where was that picture taken?
That was in Chicago, Mr. Rug. In an alley behind my friends apartment in Greektown.
YO. I´m sorry I have´nt done anything for the past day´s. It´s been real crazy here at work! I´ll try and get to it A.S.A.P. BTW like your image alot!

finally I had some time to make my picture. Keeping it kinda religious.
mael·strom n.
- A violent or turbulent situation: caught in the maelstrom of war.
- A whirlpool of extraordinary size or violence
just thought you´d like to know what it meant:)
Pretty slick, Villi! Where shall I take from here…?
well, you could maybe go a little bit more into the Maelstrom direction. I feel that my image is a bit like the calm before the storm. So maybe you could strike down with furious anger hehe

The storm hasnt kicked in just yet. But batten down the hatches…
What entails a maelstrom? Because those robes don’t look waterproof…
Hi
Yesterday when I first signed up, i wasnt clear about how all this this works. Anyway. image #3 really inspired me nonetheless. the image can be found on this link. www.frisky.dk/showit/167-4frisky.png
cheers, daniel
frisky:
Honestly Im not too big on your image. It has zero hierarchy and doesnt seem to respond to the dsnlg theme. The contrast around the type is problematic and the addition of the illustration in the bottom right corner really feels intrusive. I do like the water image, though. Sorry to be so negative, but I didnt want to bullshit you.
cowpiesurprise:
Thanks for beeing honest/frank/no-bs. that doesnt happend for the most part. As i wrote, this was my first encounter with dsnlg, so i wasnt to clear about the setup.
I do agree with you, even more than you think.
i like the image, because of the feelings i remmeber i had, when i made it.
Lets have a propper dsngl shall we?
cheers.

Are you ready to be judged? I felt that you´r guy in the yellow robe was afraid of something. Like he was commiting a sin and afraid that God would find out. Well guess what, God did and here he is to judge your poor soul.
God is a white male American with pink eye?
Well. Two of the eyes are pink. The remaining 37 are red.
who said he was American?
Touché! :D
Villi: I have some comments for your image, but theyre best saved for my #5 response. Look for it sometime tomorrow, assuming tomorrow is Friday all the way up there in Reykjavik. ;)
frisky: Im currently too busy to take on more than one dsnlg at a time, but Id be happy to do one with you after this one is done.
it´s actually the year 2037 up here in Reykjavik. I´m looking forward to your comments and image#5.
Wow! 2037!
Man, if I go to Reykjavik, and my Mom falls in love with me, will I stop existing?
God is dead. Excellent image. This may not have been intentional (actually I’m beginning to think it was), but I find it extremely appropos the death of God is relegated to A2. No doubt the war on Iraq is featured prominently on the front page…
Hmmm, it appears that on closer inspection the A2 may actually be part of the contents and not the page number…oh well.
A2 is part of the contents; the God article continues on page B4.
god? impotent? he can’t be. i talked to him the other day and he said he was “like a bunny..”
and he said he could do it in two places at once… what a guy!
bharper, wait uh you do realize you are reading this wrong, right? omnipotent. wait, am i missing something? er uh, hmmm…
God lived in Detroit?
I like the composition of this image, cowpie. It’s very sensibly balanced. One comment: your blacks and your greys might be a bit too similar (at least on my monitor)…
Keep up the good work, gents - this designologue is turning out well!
The blacks and greys: I was going for a low contrast look to mimic spot varnish on black, but your damned PC gamma is ruining everything. Come back the flock, bearskinrug; the Mac misses you…
I’ll come back to Mac when it apologizes to my wallet.
to the gates, maybe.. but im gonna turn around at the gates and walk the other way.. it is frickin scary in there..
If God is dead don´t all the other ways lead To Hell? ;)
Is leading always so tight in hell?
yes the leading has to be that tight it´s getting so damn cramped in there. The VACANCY sign is about to change.

My final contribution to my first designologue. Thanks for a good conversation, Villi; the conclusion is at your mercy!
Is that The Almighty, lurking in the subway? Not using the handrail, I see…

Fear the God or fear the doG. It´s all in the eye of the beholder.
Heh, the theme seems to have been totally abandoned in #8, but I do like the image. Of course, there are probably those who will argue something to the effect of Dirty Harry is God.
If anyone would care to share their thoughts, Im curious to find out how other people interpret #7. It is the most conceptual of my four images in this designologue and I want to know if my intended message came across at all, or if people found other meaning in it, or if people found no meaning in it.
Thoughts on number seven:
Fear God… that cannot be ignored.
Checked the source.. “Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.”
That changes things a little…
The ambiguity of the eye…who’s eye, what eye, where the hell did I dine?
Do you feel like I do?
The blood-shot eye…the strange texture to the skin…the red swollen look to everything…
And darkness at the edge of our vision…as if the eye is peeking through a peephole…a bouncer in a speakeasy…
Yes, yes, yes…it’s all gibberish. Something to do with my disorganized thoughts…
You asked.
Well… I originally felt it was God hanging out in the subway, ready to kick some ass. But then I’m not given to digging deeper once I think I understand it.
What a great design, nice typography, wonderful imagry. I love it. the best part is trying to figure out if this is going upstairs or downstairs. (i know its upside down going up, I think)
Yeah image 6 is crazy, upstairs or downstairs… Where is Villi I need answers,
In the beginning, ROb created the canvas and the pixels.
