Like the sky and the bunny :)
the bunny scares me, i like alice!
I will try to get a response together a soon as my limited creativity decides to kick in..
Thanks, yusecki :)
Maleachi - no problem, take your time. By the way, the girl is based on the original Alice Liddell who the book was based around. If you need larger pics, theres some photos of here: Original Photos
ah, thanks! i’m thinking of doing something with the second chapter of the book. Alice meets a mouse!
“Why are you wearing that stupid bunny suit?”
I keep going back and forth if I like it or not, I do like the sky alot,

“O Mouse, do you know the way out of this pool?”
Now: I’m aware that the second and the first image have nothing in common (except for the subjectmatter, obviously) and the thing is: i do like a bit of continuity in a logue, but i’m no hero when it comes to linework: i can’t get it right. so I opted for a totally different approach, as you very well can see.
‘nuff said, it should be interesting to see this logue evolve in something curiouser and curiouser!
whoa, different :) Actually its kinda hard to follow on with designs when you’re doing dsnlgs based around a book, cos sometimes you haven’t got elements following on from each other… wouldn’t worry about keeping the same styles, just have fun :D I like the mouse btw, especially the eye for some reason
yeah, but sometimes it’s cool to stick to the same style, because it presents the wholo logue as a … err … ‘whole’. And sometimes you just have to do what feels right. Besides, we’re just starting this logue, who knows where we will end up.
The mouse is not mine, everything else is mine, except for the mouse, not even the eye. .. ;-)

Tried to keep away from the line art stuff on this one. Not a great jump in the story from yours to mine, I think its only a few pages, but nevermind… all yours :)
Great play off image 2
indeed. you’re more of a teamplayer than I am! Maybe i should go for a little line art in my next one. :-)
go for it :) my line art stuff in the first was kinda crap, so I don’t mind having another go at it

Still no line art, but i feel that i’ll come round to it any of these days now…
This one rocks. I really like the bw - a shame the girl is blurred.
thanks!
(The girl is blurred because she’s part of a series of photographs i took while i was visiting Paris a couple of weeks back, and I had to use a zoom etc etc.)
Nice one :) darn, I wanted to do the caterpiller ;P
Hmmm, loadsa possibilities now… I like it being in black and white…. bit stewed on wine at the moment though, so I better leave off thinking about it all til the morning
This one is so phallic, I can’t keep my mouth shut!
it’s all in the eye of the beholder :-)
maybe!
I like the style, but this last is so high contrast across every bit of the composition that it has no focal point. Hard for the eye to know where to go. Visual information overkill.
hmm i see what you mean. I should have toned down the background. it’s the classic case of not wanting to kill your darling: i liked the background so much that I didn’t want to touch it. I reasoned with myself: what is alice in Wonderland if not a tale of dense intertwined semantic layers. It’s overkill anyway. But your point is well taken.
Harp: it’s ironic that i was the one that posted the comment about how the artist’s intention is no longer valid. But i saw it like this: Alice is yelling her head off and the caterpillar is telling her to shut her trap. If it said: ”Let’s perform unspeakable acts!” said the caterpillar then I would be inclined to go along with your phallic comment :-))
heya… quick post to say I haven’t forgotten or given up on this - just been a tad busy of late, but I’ve started it now.. hopefully I’ll be able to post in a couple days or so

Couldn’t sleep, so managed to get it done quicker than I expected…
My favorite So far.
Damn, looks like the way for me to tap into my creative side is through sleep deprivation then… :)
our tall fuzzy friend reminds me of a time when I too was experiencing sleep deprivation.. Frank is what we called him: ;o
Awesome piece, the time and detail used to create this image is evident.
Dig this ‘logue - and I love the last image; I wonder how much of it was influenced by the dark room and sleepy artist I see in my mind.… ;p
Keep goin’, you two!
“Keep goin’, you two!”
uh, famous last words or what….
anyone know whats happened to maleachi? Hope he’s ok an all :(
I’m dissapointed so far. With a topic like this you guys are not taking advantage of all that you could.
I hope someone picks it up.
The last one has promise though. =þ
Finally got it done… changed a lot from how I originally wanted it to be, but turned out ok (I think!)
